Days 2 & 3 in WY

January 20th, 2009

I’m still here, and this is officially day number four, but I don’t go in for a few more hours. I still really like the club. There was a small “blip” last night and I ended up being on stage for probably 9 or 12 songs in a row. I was pretty exhausted after that, and it really affected my money since I wasn’t on the floor selling private dances. I think I have things worked out though to make up for that money, I’ll find out tonight for sure.

Last night was not my night… just like all jobs we all have our bad days. I somehow managed to cut myself on the door to the bathroom. Don’t ask how I did that – because I have no clue! Dancers with band-aids are not sexy though (LOL), so I use nail glue to “mend” myself together. Lucky for me the black lights hide just about everything… including the nail glue! I also had a “funny” moment, but I’m not about to indulge you all in that. Let’s just say it was about as bad as Rajaa’s section of the bloopers DVD – but not the same thing! ;-) She still cracks me up. Love ya girlie! Anyhow, I laughed it off… right up until I got to the dressing room. I was packing my clothes away, went to snap the closures of the suite case I’ve been toting, and snapped some skin of my finger into it! OUCH! That hurt… so I just had to walk out and call it done for the night. Tonight is going to be much better. I’m just glad to be around good people!

Sunday was a pretty good night. I am by no means a competitive person. As a matter of fact I am probably one of the least competitive people you will ever meet. I would say I’m far more motivated by friendship and having a good time than by winning. Whenever I go to a new club though I like to sort of know where I stand in the mix… because I am also motivated by money. So after what seemed like a good number of private dances I checked in with the security guy who was tracking the dances and asked “What’s the most dances sold tonight by a dancer?”. I don’t need to know who it is, I just wanted a number to see where I was in the mix. “Actually you and (name not disclosed) are tied for the most dances” he responded. That was just before last call, and I quickly walked over to two guys who I’d seen at the bar and said “Who wants some last minute fun with a private dance before this place closes?”… BITE – caught one and took him back for multiple dances. So I was top seller for the night and pretty proud of myself. I used to be the top house girl at many of the clubs I danced at, but sometimes it’s hard to track because it’s all stage money or girls doing extras. Even then though there are ways of knowing. Being able to do that in a new club though is really good, because it shows that you are good at selling and not dependent on regulars.

The other amusing thing that happened last night was on stage. There was this Asian guy who was following me from one stage to another. He kept trying to talk to me while I was on stage, to the point that he was being rude to his friend which I was creating a “moment” with, and I finally turned around and told him he talked too much. At one point he made a comment about how some move I did didn’t turn him on. I’m a very honest person, but normally I’m also good at finding the best possible way to phrase things. I simply responded back that I didn’t do everything to turn the customers on… sometimes it’s simply for my own enjoyment. He said I had game, and I laughed at him and told him I didn’t need game – I was just telling him the truth. Suddenly he started tipping – A LOT. LOL Funny how that works!

All in all I am enjoying it… but looking forward to a MUCH better night tonight!

Working Wyoming

January 18th, 2009

Last night was my first night working in Wyoming. I got booked through TravelingEntertainers to dance Saturday through Wednesday night. OMFG!!! This place is something like heaven! Okay, seriously I’m not sure how much work I’m actually going to get done here LOL.

So I walk in, and all the girls start introducing them selves to me right away. If you’ve ever worked at a club you know how odd that is.Normally you always get greeted by the catty girls first and not really greeted well. I’ve always equated this to a money thing… suddenly the new girl is another threat to their money. I would generally say that unless you have every single thing you own locked in your locker, something is bound to get stolen. The last club I worked at it was the flat iron for my hair, which I have not yet replaced because I need a really good (hot) one and they cost a lot.

Second, this club is bringing in some of the cream of the crop from all across the U.S. – it rocks! Then again, this is also an issue for me LOL. It is hard to work when I am too busy watching everyone else and picking up new moves. First, I walk out, turn around at the bar and I see Fawnia!I know I said from the back, so you all are wondering how I knew, right? Well, the girl is seriously buff! I would recognize her from the back anywhere. Fawnia and I have been acquainted for many years, and I’ve had the opportunity totrain with her.  Then I had also been hearing a ton about this girl Niomi(she changed the spelling of her name), all I can say is that this girl is like a freak on the pole!!! Seriously, she rocks hard core.  I do not know how she does even half of the moves she does, while staying on the pole, and still moving the rest of her body so much. Check out this video of her! There were also a lot of girls from Vegas at the club, which really impressed me since I was just there last week and the money still seems better there than most other places – although it’s lacking in the amount that it use to be. Of course out of all the rotations I end up right in front of both Niomi and Fawnia! LOL This is bad. The issue is that this club has three stages, and the dancer goes from one to the other right in a row – so you end up with 6 song sets! So the problem then is that I am having an internal fight with myself to stop watching and concentrate on my own performances – but if I do that I don’t get to see theirs! You can see the problem with this right?Plus then you have people from your stage watching the other stages – because the super advanced pole tricks really are impressive… and you won’t really see better than this in the U.S. – so there it is!

I also really like the staff so far. I had a problem with one guy, and reported it right away. Well the bouncer went over and basically sat the guy in the corner like a 4 year old! Later when the bouncer walked me out to the car he thanked me for reporting the person. Ladies, if you get guys who are like “I’m a producer/photographer etc casting for (fill in the blank)”PLEASE be suspicious. I think he knew that I wasn’t interested to begin with, but then he tried giving me a casting couch line – HA – I don’t think so buddy! If you aren’t sure about someone, ask them to give you their name, and do your own research, ask for references, etc. Make sure they are who they say they are, and that they aren’t feeding you a load of BS.

That is all for now. I’ve got to get ready and head out!
